I’m not sure why it’s been 25 years since the last film, but they could certainly pump out another of these, for sure. Overall, Beavis and Butthead Do The Universe is great, silly fun for almost 90 minutes. Plus, once again, Beavis is Cornholio, and needs TP for his bunghole! Taking some inspiration from Christopher Nolan’s 2014 movie, Interstellar, they travel to the future, in our year, 2022…Īlong the way, there’s missing nuclear weapons, they stuff their faces with nachos, they’re mistaken as both idiots and the new Messiahs (their intelligence is sometimes very much overestimated), and they meet some very familiar individuals. Plus, early on, there’s arson, explosions, vomiting and lots of giggling from the disgraceful pair…It’s brilliant!īecause of their misdemeanours, they’re sentenced to Space Camp for 8 weeks, where studying will include ‘black holes’ and ‘wormholes’, to which Butthead speculates that he’s always wondered how worms score…įor reasons you’ll discover, the pair are recruited to go into space and dock the space shuttle with the Mir Space Shuttle, under the command of the mission’s lead, Serena Ryan (Andrea Savage), which results in them constantly thinking they’re going to ‘score’ with Serena, and “it’s one giant leap for our schlongs”. In the first few minutes, there’s gross violence as Butthead kicks Beavis in the nuts over and over – to see how long they can do this before he passes out… as a potential science fair project, of course. Watching the new movie, they don’t look any older, but… in their world, it’s only 1998, and they’ve been zoomed forward in time to 2022 for reasons you’ll discover. Beavis and Butthead Do The Universe is out now on Paramount+, and I remember going to see Beavis and Butthead Do America in 1997 when it reached UK cinemas.
